We're back !!!

We finally got our laptop screen fixed this week. We were tempted to just replace it with a new improved one ... but in the interest of saving some cash we opted for just replacing the screen. So hopefully I will post lots of photos in the coming week to bring you up to speed. (And I'll be able to check my email account regularly again - I can't do this from work so I've been out of the loop somewhat).

I'm posting some photos/videos from our ski trip today. Kara has been "skiing" twice now and loves it (after the first 30 minutes of coaxing her out onto the slopes that is). OK, so it's more like standing bolt upright on the skis and heading down a gentle slope in somewhat of a straight line - but she always says she wants to go "really fast dad" and started to get the concept of bending her knees today. We'll continue taking her up ourselves for the rest of this season and maybe start her on lessons next year.

Sophie just walked around the snow most of the time and couldn't get enough of the "magic carpet".

Sorry about the shaky footage, but I was trying to keep one hand and eye on Sophie so she wouldn't get bowled over by some other wayward kid learning to ski.

At least Dad gets a work out too.
