OK ... so technically these are not the real oh-my-god-look-at-your-kitchen After shots ... we still have to do the floor, trim, backsplash, lighting ... sigh ... but at least these are the we-have-a-functional-kitchen-at-last After shots.

12 feet of bench - compare this to my previous 2 feet (seriously!) of workable bench space - heaven! Sophie now works to my left, Kara to my right. (Sophie of course takes up about 6 feet of this space just for her and her mess).

My dreams of a gas stove died when we were quoted over $6,000 to bring gas into the house!!! Hey, at least these ones are super easy to clean.

A DISHWASHER!! Finally, finally we don't have to spend 30+ minutes every night hand washing dishes.

So the cabinets are superb and we are really happy with the counter top, pantry and appliances ... but we have not had too many compliments on the "lemon" colored walls so these may have to change. Eventually we are knocking down the wall to the right of the fridge and the bathroom behind it to open the kitchen out into the play room ... and add a kitchen-bar thing ... with french doors to the deck ... yep, we have a while to go yet!
