I have commented just briefly on how well Kara seems to be doing right now, but it is worth a post all of its own.
Kara is currently such a happy young child and has been this way for about 3 weeks. She doesn't really whine any more and entertains herself on the whole; she hasn't had any "moments" at all (OK, so the plane flight was understandably an exception!); she doesn't get bratty and frustrated like she used to; she walks with me and (mostly) holds my hand across the road willingly; she'll typically come when she is called for; she frequently says her 'please', thankyou' and 'excuse me' without prompting; she sings to herself all the time and talks with us constantly; and she is so considerate of Sophie. If Sophie or another child around her is cranky then Kara also becomes cranky, but on the whole she is truly a delightful little girl.
And that she has dealt with the move at the same time, without missing a single step, is astonishing to us. I can't imagine she is this good simply because we are in Seattle ... then again, she takes exactly after her father, and Lance is over the moon we are here, so maybe Kara is the same!
Kara adores her new house and continues to sing "I'm home, I'm home" every time we walk through the door. She races from one end to the other screaming with delight - but then what kid wouldn't as the house is still empty, every room echoes, and there's a hundred and one cupboards to open and nooks to explore, etc. Just wait until we get all our boxes with all that wrapping paper - she'll be in kiddie heaven!!!
Kara - you are our special, special girl and we are so proud of you. You are a delight to be with, and you are becoming a more amazing child than we could have hoped for. Please stay our little monster forever!

And why is she an amazing child? Because you are good parents. Not to say that a bad child has bad parents, but I do think that some of a child's behavior can be attributed to the parents. Remember how we talked about how they act when we are stressed or short with them? Surely the reverse can be true as well.
