The plan

So here's the plan:

I finish work this Friday.
The movers come this Friday to put everything in boxes.
The movers come on Monday to whisk all the boxes and other belongings to Seattle.
We move into a friend's apartment on Monday (he rents it out as a short-stay but no-one is in there this coming week).
We close on our DC house on Wednesday.
We fly to Seattle on Thursday.
We close on our Seattle house on Friday.
We move in thereafter.

Now that is timing!

And quite the organizing feat (considering our penchant for procrastination).

Sorry about not posting for a week, but life has been quite hectic to say the least. And never a dull moment either. I’m still signing out cases and going to court this week. I also have a conference to attend this week where I am presenting. I haven’t even started boxing up my office. My to-be boss in Seattle called to say he “resigned”. My new work then called to say that the spot light will now be on me, and that they have set up a media conference for my first day of work (and here I was thinking (and hoping) that my new job would be less stressful than my current job - ha!).

And Sophie is still not sleeping through the night!

But despite my lack of sleep, I’m feeling quite energized this week and oddly enthusiastic about the future (well, not the media part). I’ll admit that I love change and I love a good dose of stress (or maybe I just don’t like the routine and mundane). But I have never craved the spot light at all, so this will be something new to overcome.

On a very cool note, we dropped in on a friend this past weekend to say our farewells – she happens to be a photographer and she started snapping away at Kara and Sophie while they ran/crawled around her warehouse studio. She has offered to take their photo for about a year, so I’m so glad we finally did this. She has promised to put ALL the photos on a CD for us so we can print any we like. So expect to see some candid shots of the girls on the blog … soon …!
