And the worst part is that I hesitated before pressing start on the washing machine. I actually thought "Oh, I can't be bothered checking pockets - what's the worst that could happen? A tissue might disintegrate through the load - oh well!"
It was a pink ink stamp that Kara had brought home from school last Thursday. I hadn't even given it a second thought the next day. And of course kids this age tend to put everything in their pockets. You think I would have learnt to check pockets after all the rocks I have found in the washer and dryer.
So it got all over the kids clothes ... I would have anticipated a light shade of pink throughout but instead there were dark pink dots, spots and smears everywhere. THANKFULLY I had actually taken out some of my new good work clothes as I have a habit of over-cramming the washer and I thought better of it this time. Whew!
The other silver lining in this is that with having 2 girls, the bulk of their clothes just happen to be different shades of pink or have pink flowers, so I'm lucky that it was a pink stamp and not blue.

I live in fear. Especially with my "issues" relating to the girls' clothes.
Good news - all the pink came out after an immediate second wash. Not a single pink spot was left - amazing really considering the initial damage.
