Dare I say it ... we've reached such a lovely sweet spot with the girls. They are both at a really delightful age and stage . We had a slightly tough time with Sophie this year but it seems we're out of the woods now with that and there's clear skies ahead.
And they play so well together all day, every day ... without much bickering or arguing. Truly! It's amazing and almost too good to be true. And yeah, I know it's not gonna last!

Kara had a play date this afternoon - so I spent the afternoon with Sophie. Lance works a lot on weekends so rarely do I get to spend much one-on-one time with either of the girls. So it was just Sophie and I for 4 straight hours and we had a blast. More importantly, SHE had a blast. She was excessively excited and talked a mile a minute. We did exactly what she wanted to do ... bike riding, park, bike riding, ice-cream, bike riding, library, bike riding. We went on a new trail for the bike riding and she took me up hills and down dales, through the mud and gravel, around and around soccer fields and down to a lake ... and back again (I was trying to run after her the whole time ... to her delight). She rode and rode and rode ... for 3 of the 4 hours! (I was seriously pooped).
You should have seen her smile. She was the happiest little girl.
And when Sophie is happy, there is no happier place for me to be than by her side.
