I've been a tad sick this week and last, and Sophie has had a chesty cough for about a week. But we soldiered on. For a couple of months I have been telling myself to S L O W D O W N; to take a day off and just sleep and rest .... or else.
Or else happened today!
It started at 1 am. Sophie made some odd noise and when I went to investigate I found that she had thrown up all over her bassinet. I changed the sheets and put her back again but she threw up again a while later. We bought her into bed with us, and she seemed to settle down, but would cough and spit up a little more every now and then. (Our laundry pile was enormous by the end of all this).
3 am - something told me to wake up in a hurry and get to the bathroom ... and I made it just in time. To cut a long story short, I heard Kara at about 6 am saying 'my crib is dirty, my tummy hurts' and sure enough Kara had thrown up too.
Thankfully Sophie stopped throwing up by about 7 am, but Kara kept it up until lunchtime. I just stayed in bed all day as I couldn't even lift my head off the pillow. Poor Lance - he was a trooper looking after us all today.
It's days like this that I am SO thankful that my girls are both in bed by 6:30 pm. I'm not far behind them today.
