Mum's Happy Day

My mother's day gift (6am in the morning mind you) was some roses from Kara & Sophie, followed by a 2-hour sleep in - whoo hoo! Best gift ever!

Grandma and daddy then went shopping for Kara's new bike, while Sophie had a 1.5 hour nap - whoo hoo! More rest for mummy!

The afternoon was spent rowing around Lake Union with Uncle Jo Jo, Aunty Chris and Mireille (oh, and champagne). The sun even came out to round off a perfect day.

Kara makes this bike look small. Kara picked the colour and it's the first time something isn't pink.
Trust Dad to get her a Specialized instead of the K-Mart brand! And Dad has appeared to have forgotten his promise to build Kara her first bike ... maybe he was meaning her first real bike.

Such determination! (Can you guess what happened 2 seconds after this photo was taken ... yep, splat! Kara's first spill.)

The 2 girls ready to get wet.

Fun on Lake Union. (Despite it being Mother's Day, it was I that had to row the boat ... although being an ex-rower at high-school it's hard for me to watch Lance row us around in circles).

I really need to buy some new sunnies.

The gang.

Kara reading "Frosty the Snowman" to Sophie before bed. (See Poppa Max - this is still one of Kara's favorite books and we can't believe the batteries still work!)
