It has been so long since I've blogged that I almost forgot my log-in!! Four and a half months long in fact. Oops.
I guess with my parents and Lance's parents over here for 3 months straight it was hardly worth blogging ... since they saw the girls for real life (as Sophie would say) ... then I just got out of the habit. But I am back for NaBloPoMo ... maybe, kind of, possibly ... (grrr Therese).
So I should have enough content for the next month, given that I have 4+ months to catch up on ... but the soul is weak, I now type dyslexic so it takes more time to correct, the keyboard is incredibly sticky (that's Lance, not the kids), and a billion other excuses, but I'll give it a go.
I think the thing I like the best about NaBloPoMo is the capturing a month in the life of our family. It's will be fun to look back on what we did each November, year after year.
For example ... ha, ha, ha ... remember last year when we were struggling with nits ... not gonna happen this November, no way! ... only because it happened a little earlier this year!! Both kids were invaded this time, about a month ago. Oh the horror of it all. I swear, never again. It was such a hugely busy work month for me that this tipped me over the edge (which I thought it did last year, but this year saw new heights of despair). Once again, those little buggers (the nits, not my kids) made me realize I had to balance out my life yet again. Sigh ...
So what's been happening since June ... well, it's no longer sunny in Seattle! No real surprise there. In fact, today was one of those horrible, horrible Seattle days - rained the entire day, grayness everywhere. In September, Kara turned 5 (and Sophie turned 3 and a half I am reminded everyday) ... and both sets of grandparents visited ... so I have lots of photos to share.
Thought I would also jot down what I cooked for the kids this month ... tonight was Greek-style lamb kebabs (lamb, yogurt, garam masala, lemon juice). It was a hit with Sophie (surprising) but not so much for Kara (extra surprising). I am rarely really impressed with my own cooking but I thought they were sensational! There will be on the menu again.
OK, for someone who hasn't blogged in 4+ months this has been a long post. So you'll have to wait until tomorrow for some photos.
