Almost spent

I'm mostly taking a day/night off blogging. I had plenty of opportunities today but no will, and we've just got home from dinner (yes, it's been 3 days of Thanksgiving lunches/dinners!) and I'm pooped.

So the only thing I have for today is that Kara really doesn't like being alone. I started thinking this after the parent-teacher comments - they said she always likes to play and work with other kids or the teachers and not by herself - they thought this was because she lacked independence, but I think it's also because she really wants the company of others (or are these the same thing?). I've now been noticing this more and more at home and when we're with friends and other kids. Kara even acknowledged this tonight - she wanted ANYBODY to watch the movie with her as she didn't want to sit downstairs alone ... and how she'd be so upset if she was all by herself.

Maybe it's a phase like everything else.

Okay.

1. Lacking independence and wanting the company of others are completely different things.

2. I'll bet that if you polled well adjusted, emotionally healthy adults, A LOT of them would say that, given the choice, they would prefer to be with other people where the action is rather than in a room by themselves watching a movie while the part goes on upstairs.

But that's just me.

I hated being alone as a kid too. It was just more fun with other people around. (Of course now I would give a lot for a few minutes of alone time.)
