Sophie has been waking lately at 5:41am. Every day. 5:41am. She babbles and often calls out Kara's name which thrills Kara to no end. All our bedrooms are very close together and we often woke to the sounds of "Kara?" "Sophie?" "Kara!", "Sophie!" and on and on. And if it's not this, Sophie's first words are either "ockey-ockey" or "Apple Juice" (actually it's more like Abble Jooze).
We have had to "train" Kara to ignore Sophie - and it generally works. Sophie falls back to sleep until somewhere between 6-6:20am, and Kara either lies quietly (YES, KARA ... QUIET!!) or falls back to sleep too. But anyway, Daylight Savings was upon us, and in this hemisphere at least, we were to gain an hour. We knew that Kara would, give-or-take, stay quietly in her room until I went in to tell her it's wake-up time ... but we also knew that there was no way of convincing Sophie to do the same.
And you guessed it, Sophie woke like clockwork at the new time of 4:41am, and although Kara tried her best to ignore Sophie, this was hard to do for another 1hour and 20 minutes! Just meant for a very long day for me (as Lance went hiking for the day). We tried to put her to bed at a different time last night, but again this morning ... 4:41am.
This too shall pass, I'm sure.
*********And finally, totally unrelated, I'm anticipating being in a very happy mood tomorrow night when I next blog! The reverse of 4 years ago when Lance and I had an election night party at our house (with 20+ non-Americans ... go figure as none of us could actually vote) ... never seen such an unhappy bunch of people. But tomorrow will be different ... PLEASE!

I'm worried like anything. I partied in 2004 too and went home in a miserable Boston rainstorm in disbelief.
hi. and our 2 girls share the same room!! as soon as Natalie wakes up (she does not seem to be on a rigid schedule like Rachel was and like Sophie is). I nurse her and put her back to bed, all this without waking her sister up. It did not always work so well.
4.41am, ouch that's painful, hope it does change soon
