But only when I'm with Kara - go figure!
Sophie's daycare was open today (yeah!) but Kara's school wasn't (boo!). I had forgotten that looking after one kid is a lot easier than two. Errands with two gets old really quickly when you have to get both kids in and out of the car constantly. So Kara and I went to the bank, posted letters, got a haircut, bought bulk oatmeal from one shop and vegies from another, did laundry, etc. Oh, and we also went to Top Pot which has really scrumptious donuts - yes, the first time I have given Kara a donut (took her 5 minutes to pick one out ... the pink one, no the pink and white one, no the brown one ... we ended up sharing one with chocolate icing and sprinkles - she ate the top icing part and left me with the bottom). What's a fun girls day out without sugar I ask you!
Kara was a delight all day and was so excited about helping mummy with all the "important" things we had on our list today. We were even going to make pasta shells for dinner ... but the 3 hour nap that both Kara and I took today got in the way of that - 3 hours! Then we had to pick Sophie up early so I didn't have to rush for once to get us all to Kara's gym class. (Yes, Kara has been on her best behaviour since last Tues night when she wasn't allowed ot go to gym).

Nice treat! There's a picture of a donut in one of Eamon's books and he calls it a bagel. I don't correct him.
What a fun day! When Zoe and I had a similar day a while back, I felt the need to run in to a bakery and let her pick out a treat. Don't know what it's about, but it did seem to top off the mommy/daughter day.
We ALWAYS get a treat of some sort on Mommy/Daughter Day. It might be a pastry, or a juice box, or the option to purchase TWO items from the thrift store.
