I thought my next post would be made in jubilation,
HOWEVER,
wow, Kara chucked a spaz tonight! We have never had to follow through on a threat before. Sure, we have put her to bed early or to bed without books, but never have we had to not go somewhere where she was really wanting to go.
Tuesday night is gym night and this weekend was pajama week at gym. She had been talking about it every day and telling everyone that she was getting to wear her pajamas to gym. I picked her up from school early and all was going well. Then she took something off Sophie (not unusual) but then wouldn't return it when asked (very unusual) and starting answering back, etc. And it just kept getting worse. Lance and I took it in turns to talk to her, then ignore her, then mild threats ... then the "if you don't behave you will not be going to gym tonight". Usually this would immediately be followed by "I'm good mummy, I'm a good girl daddy" etc, but tonight she just yelled back at us and was almost getting hysterical. I either have a very short memory or this was the worst I have seen Kara.
Anyway, we felt this behaviour was beyond not acceptable and we didn't take her to gym. As time went on she realized we were serious and it began to sink in. Then came the wailing ... then after that she was as good as gold and told us she would not be naughty next time so she could go to gym!
We'll see if it works!
Suits me as I will now be able to watch the election coverage ... looking VERY, VERY GOOD my friends ... 220 already and they haven't even started to count the West vote yet - he can't lose!

That's tough. I hate it when we end up having to enforce those tough consequences, but it sure does work. Good to see you posting again.
